Shutterfly Promo Codes

Test Them Before Creating a Photo Book

Karla M. Davis
Most people love snapping digital photos. They save them on their computer, send a few here and there, maybe upload a couple to their facebook account but rarely print any at all. So, now you've received a coupon code from a friend to try www.Shutterfly.com which is similar to snapfish and KodakGallery. These online sites let you upload and store your photos and then later enlarge them, print them out or use them to create fun memory items like mugs, invitations, Christmas cards or a personal favorite, a photo book!

Most online retailers will accept the promo codes that circulate on the web. Some are different though, like Shutterfly. They use specific targeted marketing in the form of emails that get sent out to their current account holders. The promo codes sent to each person are specifically tailored for them and have long promo codes which correlate with their email. So, if you try one that your friend has given you, chances are that it will NOT work.

Why am I telling you all of this? Well, let's say you took your friend up on her promo code offer and decided to create a whole photo book. Being new to it, it takes you a few minutes to get familiar with the layout and upload your photos and provide all of the perfect titles, journaling per page and get it just how you like it. Now you're ready to order and send it to the checkout and are excited to type in that code to see that the book is in many cases free, with just the shipping and handling to pay. WRONG! What if you just spent hours putting together a memorable and beautiful photo book only to find out that your code is not accepted. Well, that is what happened to me and I wanted to share it with others before they spend their precious time experiencing the exact same thing.

I'll keep my book sitting in my account and perhaps one day when the offer is good enough, I'll print it. But as it stands, without knowing what the print quality is like from Shutterfly, I want to wait until the investment is minimal and then I might consider order ing future books if my first one turns out well.

Happy coupon code hunting. Always remember to test out the checkout center by making a quick, fake book before doing all the work first, only to find that out later. I hope my article will save you time and aggrevation.

If you go to your my account page and scroll to the bottom you can click on enter special code offer. You can enter it there b4 doing any work and see if shutterfly will accept it. If it does and you do not want to use it right away you dont have too. It will stay until you are ready to use it.

The book will not get deleted. It may be deleted from your cart, but will still be in your account in the "Projects" section. I have ordered several photo books from Shutterfly. They turn out beautifully - you will not be disappointed. The color is fabulous!!! Their print quality is the best I've gotten as well. I don't usually order prints from there, however, because of the cost (higher cost plus shipping - yikes!). They are the best quality I've found, however.

If you take the completed project out of your cart and leave it as one of your finished projects in your account, it won't get deleted. I finally received my own specific coupon so I can print my book for free. :)

Only stay in your cart for a certain amount of days and then they are deleted....I believe it's 10 or 12 days...same thing happened to me and I waited and then it was deleted :(
