Shy Eye Quitting Time

Poem

Kady Birdwhistle
Shy eyes says it is quitting time
Listening to Third Eye Blind's song Motorycle Driveby
There's a burning
I know my art is worthless
So it's quitting time
When the art is used it sits upon
Shelves and I don't want to gain DUST
Shy eyes ways says she might me done
My brain thinks of rocks june bugs
Settling into themselves
This ATOM-FILLED PLACE
I cry
Because it's not my used to be place
Tony held me as I cried tonight
Creation is a thought of God
I can't write
I can't write
I can't write
My head had beads of sweat pouring from it
I want to go home to Okinawa
I want to go home
I want to cry as the wave come to the shore
There are no dreams without that sound
Knowing and realizing are two different things
All miracles I see
All miracles are there
The Essence is there
I have to go, I think
I think my art is nothing
The projector keeps himself silent to me
Gosh, I sip the tea and hear my cat calling me
And I know there is no thinking
Just my personality won't FIT
Molds
Tony has gone to bed and the
Rivers of my mind shut off
I don't know that I can write anymore

Kady, Kady, Kady! You are one in a billion others who go through the same thing. Why do you think I am not a famous artist or writer? It's because I have too much going on in my head just like you do. You are famous to us. You, me, we are our own worst enemies because we criticize our own work too much. You can give up all you want, but press on and make yourself into the person you really want to be. In the words of almost any Adam Sandler or Rob Schneider movie, "You can do it!" We are all here for you. You are important and make a big difference in so many people's lives. We are here to support you through your trying times no matter what. You may go through a long dry spell like me or just need a break. That is okay. Give yourself the space you need and recharge your brain with wonderful ideas.

Kady - After Mr. Maraimali's great review of your work a couple weeks ago, you shouldn't have any doubts. Like Louisa said - just breathe! I did, and if it weren't for the fact that I broke a rib exercising during my break away from AC, I would have been refreshed sooner! Wow - that hurt!

Kady, c'mon, you know that your art is not "worthless"! Creativity is pure magic...you have to know that deep inside your being. Do your thing, Kady...let it out and celebrate it. Do not ever let the spirit crushers get inside your head, Kady. You are vital and unique and those of us here who care about you at AC would be deeply saddened if you quit. Take a break, collect yourself, and let it flow, okay?

Your art is not worthless at all, Kady! It is awesome because it is honest and pure. I enjoy your poetry so much more than the pretentious BS I so often read online. Take a break, but don't quit! Your work has so much to offer the world. It would be a shame if you gave up writing, since that's a part of who you are. I am kinda in the same frame of mind as you, darlin, only it is an issue of having no time to create as freely as I like. One thing I have learned from doing this for a while is to just back off during the tougher times, and it will give you a chance to distance yourself from your art long enough to come back to it refreshed, with a clear mind and a light heart!

Kady all creative people get overwhelmed from time to time. It's like you want to stand at the top of a mountain and scream. Take a break and relax...things will come into prespective! hang in there....

I feel that art is like love even when someone stops loving you & accepting you, you don't stop loving them because art and love is a feeling & emotion that you can't turn on and off even if you don't receive validation.

I've been there and I've done that. It eventually breaks and the sun will come out again, pouring ideas into your head at a record pace.
