To go through life
It truly is an affliction
Others talk and laugh
And enjoy each day
While shyness really holds us back
From saying what is in our heart
And anger stays all bottled up
Inside while others let it out
We know exactly what we lack
Others sing and cry and shout
They seem so self-assured while we
Hold back our thoughts and watch
The freedom they enjoy
And we struggle about
Finding the way
Always measuring the right words
Doing the right thing
Feeling left out
Until maturity finally gives us our say
