Sick Day - a Short Poem

Jill P. Viers
This is a short poem I came up with one time when I was sick. All I could was worry about how I wasn't getting anything done instead of just allowing myself to rest.

Why is it

that when we're complete healthy,

perfectly fine,

we sometimes need a sick day?

But, when we're injured,

ill, truly needing rest,

all we can think about

is how much we have on our plates,

all the things we have to get done,

and we cannot rest at all?
