My problem started when arthritis hit me hard - especially in my legs. The result was I could only walk a few steps, and then I had to sit down and rest. Also, because of COPD, I needed to catch my breath. I had decided to give up driving, at least for a while. That left me no way to go places except by public transportation, which was fine. The only thing is, I've always loved lonely journeys where I could walk and dream. I've always treasured my moments of solitude.
I noticed that one senior citizen in the mobile home park that I live in, was having a lot of fun on a mobility scooter for the disabled that he had picked up at an estate sale. My daughter found a reasonably-priced power scooter on sale online, and I bought an Echo 3 Shoprider. This is a 3 wheel scooter that came with a front basket, battery, recharger and anti-tip wheels. They sent me a better one than I ordered. I received a portable scooter while I had ordered a regular scooter. I was delighted! Also, the one I ordered didn't have arms, while the one I received, did. The arms made me feel more secure.
It was easy for my daughter and me to put it together. Then I charged the battery and it was ready to go. I know I'm going to be asked, is this a review. In my mind it's not. It's a senior adventure. To be continued.
