Sideways and Otherwise

Walton S. Tissot
I am just a human being
Quite busy being
With my wagon
Wearily weaving
From rut to rut
Hitched to a wondering star
Turning near to far
Into the irrelative relative

Talent, Genius, Divine
A wink of the eye
Breath
Soul
Joy, gladness
Serenity, madness
Ecstasy

No one knows what they don't know
Many think they know what they know
For sure; safe and secure
Positive
None as strange as folk
The worldwide living doorway tide
When the buses are slow

Some times I see you seeing me
For what I am and what I want to be
I see all of us and you and we
All the many people
All about in plenty
Busy like bees used to be

But people dancing look like fools
To those who can't hear the music
Playing in the background
Soundscape
Step, step, pivot, turn

Just a human
Being
Seeing
Rut to rut
Near to far
I am

I agree with J L Carey...this is a complete, and insightful work. My favorite lines:

Some times I see you seeing me
For what I am and what I want to be
I see all of us and you and we
    All the many people
    All about in plenty
Busy like bees used to be

So beautiful...I wish I had written it. Peace.

This, I think, is one of your best pieces. I'm just reading it again and finding it even more engaging. Love the section about how strange people look when you can't hear the music.

Shana, that song is called "Eleanor Rigby." Walton, you are a marvelous poet!

Very intense, complicated and creative poet you are. I really liked this. I thought of the Beatles song for some reason. I am bad on song titles, " I look at all the lonely people, where do they all come from?' Father McKenzie writing the words to a sermon that no one will hear, etc. I look forward to reading more.
