Club is a non profit organization. Sierra Club was founded in 1892 when the club led one of the first conservation ideas by proposing to reduce the boundaries of Yosemite National Park. John Muir was Sierra's club first president. He made one of the most profound quotes in 1912 when you think about where our planet is going today. He said, "Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul alike." This is Sierra Clubs mission. Sierra club has been committed to protecting and preserving the land and wildlife for over one hundred years. Their achievements range from large to small but no matter what the size, Sierra Club feels there is a lot of work still to be done.

What I like aboutSierra Club is their connection with nature. Without our understanding of the real issues of nature, we will not be able to pass down the beauty and comfort we were fortunate to enjoy in our lifetime to our children's children. We must start putting all this political nonsense aside whether you believe we have a global warming of our planet or not. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that life on earth is changing before our eyes. The earth as you have known as a child is not the same earth we have now. Without our animals we cannot exist on this earth. It's called the cycle of life and perhaps it might be a new evolution in the future.
