Sierra Trails RV Park Mojave, California

Sierra Trails is a Comfortable and Friendly RV Park in Mojave, California

Kathy Anderson
Sierra Trails RV Park in Mojave, California is a quaint little comfortable park with a friendly staff and many of the other RVers were friendly as well. We only stayed one night at this park as we were passing through but we found the park to be just a comfortable as any other park we spent more time in.

We did have to back into our site which was a bit tight for our 40' motorhome with the streets a little narrow. We had to have the people across from our site move their car so we could get out when we wanted to leave early the next morning. We found the park in the Passport America park directory and paid about $15 for the one night. Please, call ahead because rates change constantly and they could be different this year.

Being we were passing through and only spending the one night we weren't interested in the local attractions but they do have plenty to see and do. Weldon Pond, Antelope State Park and Red Rock Canyon State Park and lots of hiking trails. We passed through in the month of January so the weather was cool but comfortable. The temperature was in the 50s but cooled down to the upper 30s. We had a pleasant stay.

The park itself has 25 RV sites and can accommodate up to 70' rigs. Which we were glad to know and see with a 40' rig. Double check with the park for site sizes and make sure they can accommodate you. Also, check with the park but at that time only 30amp service was available. The restrooms, showers and laundry was clean. They also have a dump station, nice patios, BBQ grills. and picnic tables at every site. For activities you have a heated pool in the summer, ping pong and pool tables, big screen TV in the rec room. I remember lots of nice large trees as this is an older park. Nearby the rec room is horseshoe pits and they do have fresh water. We always fill our gallon water jugs at the water stations in the bigger cities. Only costs around 25 cents and assures you pure water. We don't like to buy the smaller plastic bottles of water since there's a problem with our dumps being overrun with them.

If you're a Passport America member, the discount is valid for one night only. They are also members of the Good Sam Club so if you're not a member of Passport America but are a member of Good Same Club, make sure you mention it when you make your reservation. They welcome all tent campers as well and offer group rates.

The usual rules apply to pets. They're allowed but you must clean up after them. Dirt bikes cannot be ridden inside the park which we found to be unusual unless they mean motorized ones. We love to ride our bikes but didn't get a chance this time.

Here's the contact information for you.

I found these rates on the Internet:
Regular rate is $26.50 and Passport America rate for one night is $13.25. It never hurts to ask for the discount if you need to stay more than one night. Sometimes we need to ask and sometimes they give it to you. Depends on the time of year and how full they are.
