The SIGG bottle inherited its name from Ferdinand Sigg. Ferdinand opened an aluminum product factory in 1908 in Switzerland. The factory originally produced frying pans, saucepans and bottles. In 1997 the company was purchased by an investor group. At that point in history the company changed course and the focus became their world renown SIGG bottle.
