Denver Museum of Nature and Science
The Denver Museum of Nature and Science always has a vast array of exhibitions from gemstones to wildlife exhibits. If you are sightseeing with children, be sure to visit the Discovery Zone, an interactive and educational center geared toward children. Admission to the museum is free but IMAX and planetarium tickets run from $4-10 each.
Denver Zoo
The Denver Zoo is one of the most popular zoos in the United States. Admission to the Denver Zoo costs $5-12 depending upon your age and the season you visit. The Denver Zoo also hosts eight free days per year.
Children's Museum of Denver
The Children's Museum of Denver offers 11 interactive areas called Playscapes and provides special programming and events for children of all ages, even infants. If a dynamic learning environment is something your children would enjoy, add a visit to the Children's Museum of Denver to your sightseeing plans. Admission ranges from free to $7.50 per person, depending upon age.
Molly Brown House
The Molly Brown House is the long-time home of a dynamic woman who became instantly wealthy beyond her dreams with a Colorado mine and survived the sinking of the Titanic. This 1889 home was designed by William Lang and includes electricity, central heat and indoor plumbing. All conveniences that were uncommon during that time. Here you can enjoy historical exhibits as well as hear some of the stories of Molly Brown's life. Admission ranges from $4-8 per person.
Colorado History Museum
The Colorado History Museum includes both historic and prehistoric artifacts. It houses and hosts exhibits, educational programs, a library, a store offering books and native crafts and the Office of Archaeology and Historic Preservation.
U.S. Mint
Tours of the Denver Mint are free but do require reservations. If you are planning to go sightseeing in Denver and would like to see The Mint, call ahead and make reservations.
Wings over the Rockies Air and Space Museum
This exciting museum houses a large collection of aircraft and historical exhibits. Admission is free.
Parks in Denver
You can't go sightseeing in Denver without seeing at least one park. Denver has over 150 parks, including forests, rivers, trails, fishing, boating and dog parks. The parks in Denver are free and well worth a look.
The Skyline
Sightseeing in Denver demands a look or two at the skyline. The modern high rise buildings against the backdrop of the Rocky Mountains are a wonder to behold. If you are sightseeing in Denver just look up. The view is priceless.
