Sigma SS266 Brow Brush

Layla A.
I have the blessing and curse of having naturally thick and angled brows. I do not use or need a brow brush very often except for the innermost part of either brow where they grow in kind of sparse. When I need a brow brush, the SS266 definitely comes in handy. It also makes a great angled liner brush when I do use gel/cream eyeliners. Unlike the other angled eye brush in the Sigma Brush Set, this one is great all around.

HANDLE

Like all other Sigma brushes, the SS266 has a wonderful handle. Great width, length, sits good in the hand, has the professional black handle and the silver logo. What I also like about this brush is there is no unusual curving towards the ferule or at the end. With some other brushes in this price category, there is a weird curve or shape that makes it very frail and cheap looking.

BRISTLES

The hair on this brush is stiff, but not rock hard, making it great for both brow and liner. With a softer brush, you will get an uneven line or odd smudging. The stiffness and smoothness of these bristles give you great control and concentrated color application.

BUILD QUALITY

This brush is very well built and the best density for straight lines and following the shape of the brow. The cut is also very well done and the ferule is well secured. There are also enough hairs filling the ferule that the metal is no issue on my eyes. It easily goes in my purse and I have had no problems with cracking or breaking, however, the paint does scratch rather easily.

APPLICATION

When applying eyeliner, this gets a great, straight line and can be winged out with ease. When using it for brow powder on its side, it evenly disperses and applies the color, perfectly following your brow shape. I do have some problems getting pin sized lines, but thicker lines are not a problem.

FINAL OPINIONS

Being a pencil liner addict and having naturally growing brows, I do not really have a use for this kind of brush. When I do need an angled brush, the SS266 is the best option I have found so far. It gives great control unless you are holding it at the very end, and is a cream/gel eyeliners best friend. I do think this brush is dupable, but if you are getting the Sigma Brush Set, you will be lucky to have this fabulous brush.
