Sign of Capricorn Heralds Longer Daylight Hours

Capricorn Interprets Spiritual into Materialistic Concerns

Masters of diplomacy, the Capricorn native seems to get along with everybody. An inwardly secretive element helps with everyday relationships, as rarely does a harsh word ever come into his or her way of expression.

Ruled by the planet Saturn, Capricorns are endowed with the patience that shows up in any endeavor that this native undertakes. Further, the Saturn element always keeps Capricorn aware of responsibility.

Though Capricorns sometimes get a bad reputation for being too materialistic, they function to translate the intangible into reality. As in any sign, the function of Capricorn has its own vital importance with both realms.

Deemed a "cardinal" sign, Capricorns are flexible and adapt well to changing situations. The assignment of cardinal is associated with the angle of the sun and Earth's equator.

Although at times, this native tends to be capricious, when it comes to work ethics, they are reliable and respected. Craftsmanship in any endeavor is one of the reasons Capricorn holds a vital place within the workforce. Administrative work is a strong suit because of an inherent practical nature.

At times the serious nature of Capricorn leads to depression, or simply an inclination to take things too seriously.

A sign of the Earth, and the representative animal being the goat, Capricorns want to stay sure footed while making an upward ascent toward the mountaintop of his or her life. Again, the essence of the mountaintop indicates the fundamental nature of the material realm.

Capricorn's physical weakness shows up in bone and joint problems, especially in the area of the knees.

The best colors for this earth sign are pink chocolate brown, black, indigo, flannel gray. The gemstone is the black diamond.

The general description of Capricorn is tempered with consideration of the surrounding planets found in a birth chart. Often the Capricorn native gets the bad reputation for being avaricious. In other words, they make the appearance of wanting too much. Usually, this is only true when the birth chart reveals negative aspects, or conflicting energies that come from incompatible planetary energies at the time of birth.

As the trusty Capricorn goat leads us toward spring, we can look forward to the fertile aspects which are also representative of this earthy being. It is the kind of materialist manifestation that we need to survive, which in turn connects humankind to the spiritual aspects of life that the growing season brings.

Peter the Great, Juius Caesar, Beethoven, Schubert, Proust, Trotsky, John L. Lewis are a few famous Capricorn personalities in history.
