One sure indicator of old age is our body. Our bodies never lie when it comes to revealing true age. In case you are wondering whether you are still young at heart or are really, truly getting old, you should take a look below at the signs of old age.
1. You have aches and pains in your back and legs. Do your legs and back seem to pain you more often than usual? Has walking become a pain and a dreaded activity? If so, this could be a sign of old age. As we get older so do our bones. Bones express their old age through pain.
2. You can no longer scrub areas in your house due to arthritis. Is scrubbing certain areas in your home a hassle for you? This could also be a sign of old age. Arthritis is a condition of the bone in which the cartilage in your joints deteriorates and in effect your fingers become sore and stiff, making cleaning close to impossible. Arthritis is a sure fine sign of old age.
3. Blurry vision is also a sing of old age. If you notice that reading print is hard to do you might want to consider paying your doctor a visit. As you get older you might develop cataracts n your eyes. According to //www.nei.nih.gov, cataracts are, "clouding of the lens in the eye that affects vision.
3. Low sex drive is a sign of old age. As we grow older our bodies change physically and so do our minds. Sex may no longer be at the top of our list of desires. This is especially true for men whose testosterone levels decrease with age.
4. If you find yourself moving at a slower pace and doing things that require the least amount of energy, you may be experiencing low energy which is also a sign of aging.
5. Wrinkles and crows feet are the most common signs of aging. If you look in the mirror and see that your face has a few wrinkles on it don't worry too much because that will just make the wrinkles worse. Luckily, there are creams that deduce the appearance of wrinkles. As we grow older are face muscles do tend to lose elasticity and many people use botox injections and wrinkles creams to hinder the progression of wrinkles.
6. Hair loss can be a sign of aging but can also signify other problems in the body such as stress or malnutrition. However, balding in men and women does happen with age.
7. If you find an attraction to simpler things, this could be a sign that you are aging. As we grow older we tend to take attraction to things that are not too overwhelming, or too complex. We want the results quickly without the hassle.
8. You want every light in the house turned off. This is not a true sign of aging this just means that you are conscious of saving energy and decreasing your monthly bills. Although, some older people find solace in dimmed atmospheres as bright lights can be overwhelming to the eyes.
9. If you look at your calendar and find that you are scheduled for more than 1 medical appointment a month that is an obvious sign of aging. You might find that you have more appointments with the foot doctor or the eye doctor. As we grow older changes in our bodies occur more often.
10. If you look at your pictures and say, "Wow I was".. or "Wow I used to be".. or "Wow look how far I have come," you are aging. When you are living in the moment life seems to take eons to pass but when you stop living in the moment and slow down you see how quickly life glides by.
11. If you find that your kids and grandkids say to you, "I know you told me that story." Then you are definitely becoming older. As we age we start reminiscing about old times and recall old stories that bought us joy.
12. Lastly, telling everyone stories about when you were a little girl or a little boy is another sign of old age. When we start thinking about childhood we finally realize how much time has lapsed from when we were younger. Reminiscing becomes more like a past time than an occurrence.
