Signs of a Recession

Signs of a Recession - When your local news says that a recession is eminent, always look for the signs. If you can't find any, then turn to the internet. Here's a simple list of signs that could be picked out by anyone.

McDonalds doesn't give out free water anymore: This is a really low-blow attempt at trying to maintain their profits. I doubt they'll make more much selling water bottles, since less and less people will get food at McDonalds when they realize the only water they can get, they'd have to pay for. Well McDonald, Uncle Sam Facepalms for you, what a seriously screwed up money making tactic.

The Pirate Bay Tops 20 Million Peers: For a bit of clarification, 20 millions peers means that there are 20 million people out there downloading and uploading things 'all at once' on just one torrent website. All this means is that more and more people are downloading stuff for free, and quite illegally. Of course you don't have to be in a recession to want free stuff, but sometimes it does take a recession to push people into doing illegal things for unnecessary products.

The Stock Market is Falling: Yea, this is just one of those really obvious signs of a recession that never fails to be brought up. The housing market has gone to hell, with the prices of houses dropping from 450k to 150k over the period of a 9-12 months.

More Drugs: It took me until Halloween to realize that more people were turning to drugs and alcohol to enjoy themselves. This is a surefire sign of recession... when depressed because the economy is currently sucking, pop open a bottle of hard liquor and light up a joint. Don't actually drink, or smoke though... just pretend.

More People Turning to Online Money Making Methods: That's because everybody is getting laid off from their jobs. A neighbor of mine was recently laid off after working for a company for years, they simply did not have enough money to pay him because of how bad the economy is doing. Just google associatepie if you're interested in earning a living online. Just remember once you make it big on the internet, that you should still do your taxes... which will fix the economy for everybody else :D.
