The word "autism" as a diagnosis is one that strikes fear in the heart of parents. There are levels of autism. Autism of children can be categorized according to the degree in which it functions: low, medium, or high. (LFA, MFA as well as HFA). Its gravity is revealed by the IQ score. Autism is a development disorder which originates in brain development.

Autism manifests itself in a wide range of symptoms. Socialization, communication deficits, minimal areas of interest and typical behavior that keeps repeating, are some of the things that have to be sorted out.

Unfortunately there is no cure for autism. Doctors, with their advanced research have helped improve functioning capacity of autistic people. While those who suffer from sever autism may always require assistance, others can function at nearly normal levels.

People typically think that autistic children desire solitude, however that isn't the case. The autistic child has difficulty interacting with others, both through communication and/or eye contact.

Usually, those diagnosed with Autism often show signs of repetitive behavior in kids. They will move without purpose, and do things such as rocking, rolling their heads, or flapping their hands. They often show compulsive behavior like making sure that objects are in the exact same place or the exact same order.

People with autism strongly resist change of any type. As they become older, it is important for them to have the security of knowing the time and date of events. In fact, they are unlikely to enjoy any change in menus. Some people do not adapt well to rearrangements in their furniture.

Slightly less than one-third of autistic children self-inflict injuries. There is a segment of children with autism called autistic savants, and they are so-called because they exhibit extremely high levels of dexterity in some area of life or study.
