Signs She's Not the One

5 Warning Signs Your Girlfriend is Not Right for You

Josh Mason
Anyone in or has been in a long-term relationship can testify to the fact that there are difficulties in the relationship cycle. However, noticing early warning signs can save you a messy breakup down the road. Understand these early warning signs that your girlfriend is not the one for you to avoid an unfulfilling relationship.

She Doesn't Want to See You Often
In the early stages of any relationship it is common to want your space away from your partner. As the relationship progresses, it is normal to want to see your partner all the time; however, this is not always mutual. When she makes excuses to why she cannot see you on a regular basis, you should avoid this relationship and move on. By this, I mean she avoids you on a continuing basis. She may have her schedule packed with activities, but in a healthy relationship, she will make time to be with you.

She is Quick to Avoid a Fight
Fights in relationships are natural; they help us overcome problems and avoid anger buildup. I had a relationship where the fights would consist of arguing until we both proved our point, then carelessly moving on as if nothing happened. Of course, this led to a final fight that led to our breakup. When you get in a fight, make it count. Resolve the problem and move on, but do not end the fight prematurely to avoid conflict. If your girlfriend avoids fights, the relationship will not last long.

She Doesn't Hold Your Interest
She may be a perfect 10 in the looks department, but if she is the one she will have a deep emotional bond as well. It does not matter if you two have completely different hobbies or likes; this is a good thing because it broadens your mind. However, if she makes excuses to avoid something that you find interesting, then she probably does not deserve your time.

She Doesn't Give Back Equally
Healthy relationships are about sacrifice to meet a common goal. However, it takes two giving equally to the relationship to make it last. For instance, if she wants you to attend her dance class, then she should make a sacrifice and participate in something you find fun, such as Sunday football.

You Argue too Much

Arguing is natural in any healthy relationship. It allows both people to bring up problems in the relationship in order to resolve them. However, arguing too much can put a negative strain on the relationship. If your partner constantly argues with you for no apparent reason, then she is probably not someone you should date long-term. Dating someone who is argumentative about every detail adds unnecessary stress to your relationship and should be avoided when searching for a life partner.
