Are you concerned that you or someone you care about may have Alzheimer's disease? Alzheimer's disease affects many people. Alzheimer's disease is a disease that affects your brain. It can create problems with your behavior, memory, and thinking skills. Currently there is no cure for Alzheimer's disease, but there are treatments for some of the symptoms of Alzheimer's that you may have. Here are the signs and symptoms of Alzheimer's disease:

Memory Loss

The number one sign of Alzheimer's is memory loss. Memory loss can be contributed to many different kinds of health issues, so be sure you get checked out by your doctor if you even have the tiniest suspicion that you may have Alzheimer's disease. You really need a doctor to diagnosis you. A person will usually start to slowly lose his or her memory until it gets worse and worse. Unfortunately, Alzheimer's disease can even lead to death. That is why it is so important to get the right treatment if you actually have Alzheimer's disease.

Confusion

A person with Alzheimer's will have other symptoms of Alzheimer's. For example, it is really easy for a person with it to be very confused about things. They may forget how they got somewhere. Dates may be easily forgotten, and they may be lost in their reality. Sometimes they flash to the past in their memories instead of remaining in the present. Their confusion will decline severely as time goes on.

Daily Tasks

When a person has severe Alzheimer's disease they should not be left alone. Not only can they have memory loss and be confused, but they will probably have trouble even doing the simplest of daily tasks after awhile. They will also misplace things all of the time, and not be able to find them easily. What used to be so simple will be really hard for a person with Alzheimer's. For example, a person with Alzheimer's may forget to go to a doctor's appointment or take their medication. This can be a very serious health issue, and a person with Alzheimer's disease should really be around caring people to take proper care of them.

Social Skills

Other Alzheimer's symptoms include a sudden decline in social skills. They have a hard having a normal conversation. Either they say the wrong words for things, stop in the middle of a conversation because of loss of thought, or they get so moody and depressed that you do not want to continue conversing with them. It can be really hard being a caregiver of someone with Alzheimer's disease. You must have lots of patience with someone who has Alzheimer's disease. There are lots of resources to help those who have Alzheimer's disease or those who are their caregivers so make sure to ask for those when discussing Alzheimer's disease with the doctor of an Alzheimer's patient.
