Bowel Movement Bleeding

One of the first symptoms of colon polyps that you will notice will probably be bleeding. That is how you will know that something is wrong. When you have a bowel movement you may notice blood in your stool. It can be pretty scary when you first see it. The blood in your stool could look bright red or it can look blackish. Always tell your doctor if you have blood in your bowl movements because there can be many different causes for this, and sometimes your bowel movements can be different colors for simple reasons. It is always better to get checked out than to worry that you might have something serious.

Rectal Bleeding

Unfortunately, it is not only your bowel movements that might show signs and symptoms of colon polyps. You might also discover rectal bleeding. Rectal bleeding can also be serious so discuss this with your doctor if this occurs too. Hemorrhoids and fissures can also be a cause of rectal bleeding. Get checked out by your doctor for proper treatment.

Abdominal Pain

Another sign and symptom of colon polyps is abdominal pain. It will feel unpleasant. It may feel like cramps. Like something is obstructing your bowel movements. It may make you feel like you need to run to the bathroom. You may feel very sick. So be careful of what you eat and drink because you do not want to make the situation worse.

Constipation

Colon polyp symptoms also include changes to your bowel movements. For example, you may experience constipation. It may be very hard for you to make a bowel movement. Having colon polyps may also make you go in the other direction with your bowel movements. You might find that you have uncontrollable diarrhea. If this lasts longer than a week then you will definitely want to get checked out. There are many signs and symptoms of colon polyps so always get checked out by your doctor if you suspect that you may have colon polyps.
