Silky Sexy Hair Shampoo: Smooth or Harsh Results?

Although I have stick straight, manageable hair, it can get pretty coarse to the touch, especially when I wash it more frequently. Even after I use conditioner, my hair may appear soft, but upon the touch it actually has a rough texture. My dilemma is that my hair can get oily fast so I cannot resort using intensive moisturizing shampoos to make my hair softer. When I came across "Silky Sexy Hair Shampoo" I was immediately stoked. I have used other product by Sexy Hair Concepts before and have had nothing but positive results. They had two versions of shampoo, one geared to fine and normal hair types and another one geared to thick and coarse hair types. I grabbed the thick and coarse hair version shampoo and took it home to put it to the test.

The appearance and scent of the shampoo already grabs your senses once you open the bottle. The appearance is a pearly sheer white color and the scent is light and sweet (a mixture between vanilla and tropical). After using this a couple of times I did notice a slight softness to my hair texture. It could be that I need to use this in conjunction with the conditioner more often, but the softness does not last long. After a few hours my hair returns to its original coarse texture. Also, this definitely makes your hair oilier. Most of the time I can go without washing my hair everyday, but after using this shampoo, already within one day, I felt like I had to wash my hair.

I bought this in the large 1 liter (33.8 fl oz) bottle, so I have a lot to go through. It also comes in standard 13 fl oz bottles and depending on the size, the pricing can range from $13 to $23. If you have fine to normal hair types then I would recommend giving this a try because it actually might have a more noticeable effect on your hair, but only get this when it's on sale. If you have thick or coarse hair like me, don't bother. I'm sticking with Sexy Hair Concepts' volume shampoo product line instead.
