Silly Sally

Silly, Sally, so what's up now?
Did you really want to go to that town?

What's up, Sally, where'd you get that gown?
Did you really, wear that out on the town?

Silly, Sally, when did you cross that silver ocean?
Silly, Sally, silly, Sally, where'd you get that notion?

Silly, Sally, golden curls flying, no one ever knew you were dying.
Laughing, so loud, no one knew you were crying.

Silly, Sally, walk along, walk along, walk away.
I remember you now, as you were, but a child at play.

Friends we were but for a day.
Silly, Sally, do you remember the play?

Silly, Sally, too soon, you went away.
Time for you ended, so very soon, you were but ten, but still your memory lingers even to this day --
