Silver River State Park is located just east of Ocala, Florida and is home to some pretty amazing outdoor adventures. Ride up the Silver River in a canoe or kayak and view the crystal clear waters of the springs. Hike, bike or ride horseback on the parks many miles of trails.

Spend the night in your tent or RV at the full-facility campground or upgrade it to the maximum and rent out the luxury three bedroom cabins complete with a kitchen and bath. So what are you waiting for? Bring you, your friends and your family for one of Florida's best state parks.

Silver River State Park is also home to the Silver River museum and the Environmental Education Center. These community buildings are operated in cooperation with the Marion County School District to provide funds and educational opportunity for all the school districts in Florida. The museum costs $2 and is filled with fossils, Indian artifacts and interactive displays about the areas rich history.

Canoeing and kayaking are two of the most popular water sports at Silver River State Park. With canoe rentals available at the park, everyone can enjoy the crystal clear waters of the spring fed river whether you bring your own canoe or not.

Two launching points within the park provide guests with different advantages and disadvantages. The most popular spot requires a simple walk from your vehicle to your vessel. The disadvantage here is that you have to paddle farther up the river. The other spot requires a half mile hike to the launch point with your canoe and gear but it pays off as it requires less paddling up the river to get to the main springs.

Even if you're not into water sports, you can still have a good time at Silver River State Park without getting your feet wet. Miles of multi-use trails allow visitors to hike, bike or horseback ride and explore the real Florida.

Once you've had your fill of outdoor activities, spend the night at the parks full-facility campground. Bring your tent or RV and enjoy your very own campsite complete with picnic table, fire ring, grill, electric and water hookup and nearby showers and restrooms.

Go luxury camping at the parks 10 cabins. Three bedrooms come with a kitchen, bathroom, fireplace, living room and all the supplies for the complete luxury camping experience.
