Silver Thread

Scott Bauer
As the hour of noon turns dark

My blurred vision begins to crystallize

I am once again free of burden

A strong fiber of silver drifts from my rising form

My mind, body and spirit

All connected by the tender wire of life - the silver thread

In the endless night, stars appear

Becoming my sole comrades on this flight - on the thread

My mind spies other web-like cords

Lost in exile from the blue globe of life

From my hapless wanderings, I am drawn

Into a tunnel of light by the hands of fate

Searching for an end to the eternal voyage

I reach out with my heart and soul

Out of the brilliant tunnel

Once again I enter life.
