Simmons Beautyrest Sky Rise Pillow Top Air Bed Review

Simmons Beautyrest Sky Rise Pillow Top Air Bed available at Walmart provides the height of a real bed and a comfortable night's sleep.

I recently left my furnished apartment and had to get a temporary bed until I purchase a new one, so I headed over to Walmart to check out their air beds. I knew that I didn't want to spend a ton of money, but also knew that it might be a little while before I found a new bed, so I at least didn't want to feel like I was sleeping on the floor. With that in mind, I took a look at Simmons Beautyrest Sky Rise Pillow Top Air Bed available at Walmart for $100; it sat up high like a real bed and was available in full size -- perfect; I certainly didn't want a huge queen size air mattress taking up too much floor space.

Simmons Beautyrest Sky Rise Pillow Top Air Bed: Product Packaging

This product was packaged well; the air mattress and all assembling accoutrement were packed into the convenient drawstring pouch (which I have been using to store all bed items) and the pump and instructions were packed in bubble wrap.

Simmons Beautyrest Sky Rise Pillow Top Air Bed: Product Performance

Following reading all of the instructions, I set to unrolling my air bed, attaching the pump, and inflating the bed. The bed was easy enough to inflate, I just attached the pump to the nozzle and switched the button on and within ten minutes my bed was up and ready for use.

The first few night's I slept on the Simmons Beauty Rest Sky Rise Pillow Top Air Bed I had a terrible night's sleep because I hadn't inflated it enough (I like a firm mattress), so I tried inflating it some more.

It was hard to get the right amount of air into the Simmons Beautyrest Sky Rise Pillow Top Air Bed initially; the head of the bed seemed to inflate much more than the foot, making it difficult to assess how much air was needed to get an even feel. Though the firmness still isn't just right, it's probably about as close as it's going to get and I am getting decent sleep now, so it's firm enough for me.

Bedding can be a bit tricky on the Simmons Beautyrest Sky Rise Pillow Top Air Bed; you may want to scrounge up a fitted sheet that is a size larger than the size of your bed due to the height of the mattress. I have put a full size unfitted sheet on mine and did not tuck the sheet under the bed.

Simmons Beautyrest Sky Rise Pillow Top Air Bed: Overall

This bed certainly wasn't worth $100; it really should have cost $40 or $50, but I am happy with it, it's doing its job (keeping me off the floor and in some level of comfort). I would be thrilled to recommend the Simmons Beautyrest Sky Rise Pillow Top Air Bed available at Walmart, but I do want to stress that a standard air mattress could be purchased for $30 whereas this one cost $100.

I give this product three stars out of five.
