Simon Cowell Shows Rocker Adam Lambert a 'Whole Lot of Love' on American Idol

Adam Hits Another Grand Slam During Rock Night

Jackie Kass
Las Vegas odds makers currently have Adam Lambert picked to win the eight season of American Idol, and after tonight's performance, the odds may go even more in his favor. Widely known for his incredible range and powerful performances, Adam hit another grand slam on tonight's American Idol competition. Unlike last week's shocking results show where Adam placed in the bottom two, it's not likely to happen again.

The theme for the evening's performances was "rock", and Slash, the former lead guitarist of Guns N' Roses, was the guest star. Tonight's show featured solo performances by all four of the final competitors, and two duets.

Adam Lambert was the first performer of the evening, and took a bold and brazen chance. Always an original, he became the first competitor ever on American Idol to sing a Led Zeplin song, "Whole Lot of Love." As usual, Kara and Paula gushed their praise, and Randy said he was blown away by the performance. Simon stated that no one else could beat his performance. He was right. No one came close.

I predict that the final two competitors left standing will be Adam Lambert and Danny Gokey. Kris Allen was clearly out of his element this evening, and didn't receive high praise from the judges. Allison Iraheta showed more personality tonight, and even became feisty with the judges. Her duet with Adam will probably save her from elimination, but I don't think she has the fan base, like Danny, to make it into the final two.

Strap yourselves in fans, because the final weeks of American Idol will certainly be an adrenaline rush and a rollercoaster ride.
