The adventwreathis typically a circular wreath made of evergreen branches with five candles, three purple, one pink, and one white, arranged on the wreath. The purple candles symbolize hope, peace, and love. The pink candle celebrates joy and is lit on the third Sunday of Advent. The white candle is lit on Christmas and symbolizes the birth of Jesus. (The white candle is not included on all advent wreaths.) The circularshape of the wreath is a symbol of eternity. The evergreens used on the wreath are symbols hope and renewal.
