Simple Airbrushing in Paintshop Pro 8

And Colour Restoring

Basic Airbrushing on Paintshop Pro 8:
Okay, so, everyone has their off days, right?
Well, now you can add a touch of summer to any pale photos, and smooth over anyones' skin, too.

Step One:
Firstly, open your picture up in Paintshop Pro, and select your soften tool - this may be lurking in the drop down menu behind your dodge tool, so keep an eye out.
Drag the soften tool over the cheeks, the bridge of the nose and forehead of your subject, as shown in red in this picture.

Step Two:
You should now have much smoother skin on your photo, but the photo should not look blurred - if it does, use the undo button, and make sure to avoid the nostrils, eyes and mouth.
Now, you want to select your burn tool, and go lightly over any areas that need darkening, or definition. I use this particularly on eyeshadow, and a little on the hair of most subjects, to make it look highlighted.

Step Three:
Now, go to Adjust >Balance >Automatic Colour Balance, and match these settings;
Strength: 100
Temperature: 5047
Make sure the Remove Colour Cast box is de-selected.
This is to add colour to any pale pictures, so if you've already got a slight red / orange glow on your photo, you might want to select a slightly cooler setting.

Step Four:
Finally, select your dodge tool, and lighten the pupils slightly.
You may also wanna do the hair, too.
