The first thing you may need to do is buy a rice cooker. Buy a large bag of white rice also. All you have to do to feed a family of four is add three cups of rice and three cups of water. Add the exact amount of rice as you do water. If you are cooking for a family of two, you will have to add three cups of rice and three cups of water. You will have to rice out the rice in the rice cooker also. Try to rinse the rice out until the water isn't cloudy. Otherwise, you will be left with very sticky rice.
You can make rice with any other meal that you cook.
Some other good side meals would include corn on the cob and mashed potatoes. For corn on the cob you will need to peel back the husks and rice off the corn. Boil the water and let the corn cook for at least 45 minutes on high. For mashed potatoes you will need to rinse the potatoes and peel them. Boil the water and let the potatoes cook on high for 45 minutes. To decrease the amount of time you can chop the potatoes up very small and when you stick a fork in the potatoe and it splits in half, the potatoes are completly done. You will need to mix the potatoes and add a touch of milk.
You can also buy sloppy joe mix. You will need to buy meat to go along with it and some buns. One small container of meat will feed 3 people. You can also buy meat for tacos. Remember to buy shredded cheese, lettuce, taco shells and seasoning. You can buy packets of taco bell seasoning. You will first need to brown the meat for sloppy joes and tacos. You can then add the seasoning or can of sloppy joe mix. Then you can make the tacos or sloppy joes.
You can also buy several boxes of different types of spaghetti noodles and sauce. You will need to let the noodles cook and then add the sauce once the noodles are done cooking. This is a very inexpsive meal.
You can buy shake n bake which usually comes in packets of two. You can buy boneless chicken or any chicken you choose. Pour the shake n bake mix in the bag and place the chicken in the bag. Shake it all up and cook it in the oven.
