Simple Easter Bunny and Chick Masks

A fun way to liven up a children's Easter party is to make these simple bunny and chick masks! The supplies are fairly inexpensive, and this is an easy craft that most children can easily do. Here's how.

Supplies:

- Paper plates (the generic white paper kind, no decoration)

- Construction paper in pink, yellow, and orange

- Crayons or washable markers

- Scissors

- Glue

- A single hole punch

- Curling ribbon in pastel colors

For A Bunny Mask:

Step One: Cut the bottom half from one paper plate in a "v" shape. (This opening will be the bottom half of the mask and allow your child's mouth to peek out.)

Step Two: Using the centers of two other paper plates, cut out the bases for two bunny ears. Cut and glue pink construction paper to make the center of the ears. (Tip: For an added treat, glue on fake fur to the white portion of the bunny ears.)

Step Three: Cut out one pink bunny nose from the construction paper.

Step Four: Glue both ears to the top of the plate acting as the mask base, allowing both ears to stick out from the underside of the mask. Glue on the pink bunny nose to the mask base.

Step Five: With crayons or washable markers, decorate the face of the bunny. Draw on a set of eyes, whiskers, and a mouth.

Step Six: Punch two holes, one on each side of the mask, using the hole punch. Cut a length of the curling ribbon long enough to hold the mask to your child's face and tie to both holes.

For A Chick Mask:

Step One: Cut the bottom half from one paper plate in a "v" shape. (This opening will be the bottom half of the mask and allow your child's mouth to peek out.)

Step Two: Using the mask base as a pattern, trace the shape onto the yellow construction paper. Cut out the paper and glue onto the mask base. (TIP: For added "fuzzy" look, try dipping cotton balls in yellow food coloring. Allow them to try, and then glue onto the mask base.)

Step Three: Cut out one orange chick beak from the construction paper, a small triangle shape.

Step Four: Glue the orange beak to the mask base.

Step Five: With crayons or washable markers, decorate the face of the chick. Draw on a set of eyes, whiskers, and a mouth.

Step Six: Punch two holes, one on each side of the mask, using the hole punch. Just as you did with the bunny mask, cut a length of the curling ribbon long enough to hold the mask to your child's face and tie to both holes.
