Simple EBay Tips to Help You Make More Money

Oodles
There is no doubt that eBay is a powerful way to sell items online. However, it is also a very competitive environment. Here are some easy ways to sell more effectively on eBay.

List at the Right Time

It doesn't make much sense to list an item at 4 AM and have it run for 7 days. It will end at 4 AM and most likely you will get less bids simply because people are usually sleeping at 4 AM. The best days to list are Sunday and Monday, around 9 or 10 PM Central time, for that is when there has been a weekend before it. Also, at that time people are most likely at home and can easily check eBay.

Don't List Too Many of the Same Items At Once

Basic economics tells us that the greater the supply, the lower the price that you can expect to profit from. If you have a whole bunch of beanie babies you want to sell, it would be better to sell just a few different ones every week rather than list all of them at once.

Offer to Combine Shipping

This will encourage people to buy more than one item from you. Don't hurt yourself by giving too much of a discount, however.

Offer To Ship Internationally

The world is a big place and by providing that option you may be surprised and learn more about the world while you are at it.

Take Nice, Clear, Neat Pictures

People like to see what they're buying. A picture can either help you sell it or turn away people. You don't want to take a picture that looks messy and has random stuff thrown around the item.

Figure out Exactly How Much Shipping Will Cost You

Don't guess the shipping price. Either overestimate a little bit or figure it out exactly. If you are selling an item you know that many people will see, offer Free Shipping to entice people.

Start Auctions Out Low If You Know Many Will See

If you are selling a popular item you can start out an auction at 99 cents and not worry too much. Another option is to start it out very low and set a Reserve Price just in case.

Give Thorough Descriptions and Be Honest

People will appreciate your honesty and will trust you more. This will help your feedback also. Ebay has updated their feedback system now to include detailed ratings, so you should be alert about the issues.
