Remove Egg Splatter Stains on Brick
A great way to get rid of egg splatter stains is pretty simple. All you need to do is dissolve some oxalic acid crystals in some tap water and for your safety make sure that you read the label and follow the manufacturer's instructions before continuing. Use a brush to apply the solution to the surface of the brick to remove the stain. Make sure that you use non-metallic container for the solution. Rinse and the stain should be gone.
Remove Iron Rust stains on Brick
One of the best ways to get rid of iron rust stains on brick is to first scrub the area with some household bleach that is at full strength. Then you will need to allow it to stand for at least 15 minutes before rinsing. If this isn't successful, then the next step is to use a solution of 1 pound oxalic acid to 1 gallon of water. Apply this solution to the stain and allow it to remain on the stain for another 15 minutes before rinsing. To make sure that you don't damage the brick, you will want to test a portion of brick in an inconspicuous location first.
Remove Hardened Paint on Brick
The first thing that you will want to do to get rid of hardened paint on brick is to scrape off as much of the paint as possible with a putty knife. Next you will scrub the hardened paint with a metal-bristled brush with some cold water, not hot water. If you are having some difficulty removing the hardened paint this way, you can try some commercial paint remover. Again, to make sure that you don't discolor the brick you will want to test the brick in an inconspicuous location first.
By following these simple methods in this article you will be able to get rid of egg splatter stains, iron stains, and hardened paint from the brick of your home easily. Before you know it you will have your home looking more beautiful than ever.
