Use an old hammock
Using an old hammock is a perfect way to store all the bulky, lightweight items you might have lying around your garage, such as sports balls, empty duffel bags and any other various clutter. To mount the hammock to the garage ceiling, use screw eyes to attach to the joists in your garage ceiling and hang the hammock. Now all those items are stored safely and out of the way.
Centralized organization
Next time you have the task of cleaning up your garage; don't just place things where they fit. Do yourself a big favor and reorganize the space into "centers," much like you would the items that are in your kitchen.
Organize the items in your garage into groups; group them by their specific activity. Put sports items in one group, put gardening items in another group, and so on and so on. Next time you need to clean things up in your garage, it will be easier because everything will have its own designated space.
Make your own hose reel
Get an old five gallon paint bucket and make your own hose reel. Simply screw the bottom of the old paint bucket to your garage wall and wrap the hose around it. The hose will be off the ground and out of the way.
Create hanging space
Create extras space in your garage by hanging an old shoe bag to your garage wall or on the inside door of a cabinet. You can place any miscellaneous items into the shoe bag for easy storage. You can also use the spine of an old three-ring loose leaf binder as an easy hanging catchall storage solution.
Velcro magic
Using strong adhesive strips of Velcro is a great way to get rid of garage clutter. Simply place the strips of Velcro on your hand tools and various gardening tools, and then to the wall of your garage to get the tools out of the way and help with cleaning up.
Next time you need to create more space for your garage, use some of these easy solutions and you will have things all cleaned up in no time, or you can go another route and just don't buy so much stuff!
