Gardening takes work and the hard work that you put into your garden will show how much you really care. There are many things you can do to keep your garden in excellent condition. Did you know that you could use ordinary Epsom salt to keep your garden in the best possible condition and helping to keep it beautiful? Here are some simple gardening tips you can use today by using Epsom salt.

Gardening tips using Epsom salt: Control disease resistance

Mix a solution to spray on your plants in your garden to aid in disease resistance. Just mix one tablespoon of Epsom Salt into one gallon of water and pour into a spray bottle. It works great because the Epsom Salt is magnesium sulfate, and this lowers the level of pH in the soil and it help to provide the much needed magnesium to your plants.

Gardening tips using Epsom salt: For healthy tomatoes

Tomatoes grow more efficiently in soil that has a neutral pH level. To help the tomatoes grow strong and healthy, dig a hole about one foot in width and place a layer of compost that is mixed with one teaspoon of Epsom Salt into the hole, along with one half cup of bone-meal.

Gardening tips using Epsom salt: For better blossoms

Epsom Salt is great for aiding flowering plants and to help enrich the flowers color and also aid in disease resistance. All you need to do is sprinkle one teaspoon of Epsom Salt for every foot of the plant's total height for better color and greening of the plant.

You can also mix a solution of one tablespoon of Epsom Salt with one gallon of water. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle and spray the solution on the plants. Since the Epsom Salt is a magnesium sulfate, it helps in lowering the pH level of the soil and provides magnesium to the plants.

Additional tip using Epsom salt: Soothe poison ivy

If you happen to get a nasty poison ivy rash, you can use Epsom Salt to treat it. All you need to do is make a paste out of some Epsom salt and water. Mix the two together until it forms a paste and simply apply the paste to the infected area. It will help soothe the itching and aid in healing of the skin.

These are some simple strategies that you can try today to keep your garden beautiful, and also help in soothing a poison ivy rash.
