Simple Going Green Tips that Also Help Your Pocket Books Right Away
You Do Not Need to Spend the Green to Start Going Green
Cleaning Supplies:
Use olive oil to fix that squeaky door noise the same way you would use WD40. It works just as good and because you are not using WD40 and releasing hydrocarbons you are saving the air one small step at a time.
Instead of using bleach and other harsh chemicals you can use vodka to take away your bathroom mold and mildew. Just put some in a spritz bottle then spray and wipe away the germs.
Use salt to take off unsightly stains instead of the usual toxic stain remover sticks.
Vinegar can be used to clean your windows instead of Windex. Just take 2 tablespoons of white vinegar and a gallon of water mix in spray bottle and your done.
Baking soda can be use so many ways, one of them is to get marks like crayons off of walls by making a paste with baking soda and water then take a toothbrush and scrub the walls until stain is removed. Also use baking soda to get rid off water stains on hard floors with a sponge that has been dampened with a water and baking soda mixture.
Saving energy:
One simple way to cut down on your electric bills that costs absolutely no money is to take your older blankets that are not in use and cover some of your windows, especially the really drafty ones. It works very well to create insulation it might not be very pleasing to the eye but it works.
Turn off your computers most people do not even think about it but computers even not in use are still sucking electricity. Just turn them off at night or anytime you will not be needing it, it won't save a lot but any is better than nothing.
Turn the water off when not in use, simple yet people are forever running water.
Wear warmer clothing around the house, it's OK to get cozy and snuggle down with a blanket rather than turning the heat up.
Car:
Simply lay off the peddle, there is no need to speed.
Recycling:
There are so many different items that can be recycled now it's hard to keep up with them all, however a large amount of people still are not recycling the obvious ones as much as they should. I'm talking soda cans, cardboard, and plastic, it's very simple and easy to start recycling right there. Then eventually recycling everything else that can be recycled a little bit at a time won't seem so overwhelming.
These are just a few of the ways that you can save money and start to do your part in helping clean the earth. They hardly take any time or effort on your part and you might just be surprised how much they help out your pocket book as well.
