If you have short, but boxy, bob-like hair, it might be lacking movement and style. Choose a softer cut that adds layers and bangs throughout the entire style, which will not only provide movement to the hair and increase body, but also enhance facial structure. When getting a shorter 'do, add some highlights around the face to brighten up the skin without washing out skin tone. Avoid hair that sits flat against the scalp-- that never looks young!
If you have spent years (or even decades) coloring and processing your hair, you might have ended up with straw-like strands. Not only does dry hair make you look older, but the light color may very well be washing out your skin tone. Cut (literally) 10 years off of your appearance by opting for a shoulder-skimming bob with plenty of layers and textured ends. Add color back into your hair by choosing your natural shade and then increasing dimension with subtle highlights near the face. Rule of thumb: If your hair color is similar to your skin tone, it is too light and may be washing you out!
Stuck with the long "parted in the middle" hippy look? While long hair looks amazing, it may be overpowering your face and even aging you out. If you have had long hair for most of your life, now is the time to take 10 years off of your face. Opt for face-framing layers to offer the illusion of longer hair, and go shoulder length or shorter in the back. The long layers will be full of volume and accentuate your natural bone structure. Add dimension by highlighting and low- lighting throughout, and ask your stylish for textured ends.
No matter what your hair looks like now, there are plenty of easy style changes to try. Not only is it is essential to reinvent your look frequently, your face will get younger looking in the process.
