Simple Health Tips for Truck Drivers

The lower back pain is caused due to a lack of exercise. Hence it is important that you do some kind of exercise at regular intervals of time to get rid of your back pain. If you are busy driving and don't get time to exercise, a little stretching will help for the time being. You can also massage your lower back by the help of your thumbs, by applying pressure on the affected areas. Move your thumbs in a circular motion. Another good exercise would be to twist your upper body from side to side, without moving your lower body, just like a punching superhero toy. See that you have a comfortable seat that doesn't hurt after a while.

Bladder and kidney problems are some common issues that truck drivers face, as a result of not visiting the washroom frequently. Urine held up for a long time starts to cause damage to kidneys very easily. So its important you visit the washroom, just before you begin a journey. Pay attention to your health as much as you can.

While you are not at work, spend some time walking and exercising. Swimming is good for your body, but you should avoid cycling as cycling makes you lean forward which again may cause problems for your back. Avoid heavy exercises like weight lifting, bench press or other exercises that may cause injury to your joints such as elbows or wrists. A little exercise to build muscles is fine though.

You don't have to hire a body building trainer and pay thousands of dollars to have good health. Just eat healthy, and exercise to maintain a food and exercise balance. Food that is prepared at home is far more better than food that is available at a fast food joint. So make it a habit to carry your home food with you. Also drink plenty of water all through out the day to stay fresh.

If you feel tired and sleepy while on the road, a little tea or coffee will do, but too much of it will cause acidity. When you are not driving, try to get as much rest as possible, so you don't feel sleepy while driving. If you feel the need, get a health insurance as well as it will save you from spending a lot of money in times of illness.

To summarize this article in short, eat healthy, drink plenty of water, sleep as much as you can and sleep on time, avoid heavy exercises but still do some exercise and get an inexpensive health insurance if you can.
