Basket full of Organic Sugar Cookies
A basket loaded with delicious cookies is a time honored hostess gift. The type of basket chosen is also vital. Buy a high quality Longaberger Basket or a durable wicker basket at the craft store. To make cookies you will need the following ingredients:
1/2 cup organic butter
1/2 cup organic sugar
1 teaspoon natural vanilla extract
1 large organic egg
1 cup of natural flour
Mix all your ingredients in a bowl and stir thoroughly. Use your hands to roll each cookie into a small ball and place on a greased baking sheet. Heat the oven at 350F and bake for 10 minutes.
Bath and Body Oil
Homemade bath and body oil is a luxurious moisturizing treat that any hostess will enjoy. Go to the craft store and buy an empty glass bottle. Combine 3/4 cup of almond oil with five drops of peppermint oil and 1/2 cup of jojoba oil. Add slightly more or less depending on the size of your bottle.
Scrapbook
A scrapbook is a treasured gift that a hostess can pass down to future generations. Buy a scrapbook at the craft store along with a few supplies to give to the hostess as well. Glue photos you know the hostess will love on high quality card stock. Add stickers, glitter and embellishments like charms to give your pages a finishing touch. If you have a lot of photos you can fill the entire scrapbook or you can do the first few pages to get the book started and the hostess can finish up the book on her own time.
Candles
Candles create a warm glow in the room or a romantic ambiance depending on the occasion. Buy paraffin wax, molds and wicks at the craft store. Place the wicks in the mold and melt the wax. Pour the wax into the wax molds and add a few drops of essential oil like lavender or pine for fragrance. Allow the wax to dry and take shape. After eight hours remove them from the mold and tie ribbons around each candle. To complete this gift, place the candles in a basket.
Hand Decorated Photo Frames
Photo frames are a must-have item for any household. Give your guest a special frame to showcase their photos. Glue sea shells, pressed flowers or other decorations around the frame.
