Not really.
Beauty on the horizon?
Not exactly.
Love in the air?
Not especially.
Fortunes changing?
Not particularly.
Then why this
feeling of well being?
Must be because
God is good and
simple joys are enough:
A friend back safely
A baby born strong
A child getting help
A hug that lasts all day
The sun coming out.
It's the kind of peace
that comes
without shouting.
Isaiah 26:3
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Wow this is awesome, that is complete peace, there is a famous quote, life is 10% of what happens to us and 90% of what we do about it, your poems says it all.
PS. Wonderful picture to go w/ your poem. The juxtaposition of the simple home set within this breathtaking grandeur is striking.
Oh, I love this. Sometimes when circumstances appear bleak, we only have to look around to see the beauty & blessings that were there all along. Free.
This was so encouraging!
The Scripture verse and poem compliment each other well.
Beautiful poem and a great reminder of the peace that we can get from God.
Thoreau once said that the man who would make himself rich would make his needs few.
Perfection! Too many people do not take a minute to appreciate these joys!
