Simple Pleasures of Summer

Pearlygates
Sometimes our lives get so hectic, we forget to enjoy the simple pleasures. Don't let summer get away from you this year without enjoying it to it's fullest. Pick two or three of these simple pleasures each day.

Simple Pleasures of Summer

Pick a few flowers from your garden or buy a few at the store. Put them in a vase or bottle and place them on the table.

Find yourself a good book to read.

Go for a walk around the block, along the beach or in the woods, and really enjoy what nature has given us.

Listen to the birds singing early in the morning.

Make some lemonade and add fresh raspberries to it.

Lay on a blanket at night and stargaze.

Go to a free concert in your area.

Find a drive in theater to go to.

Eat outside on the deck, patio or on a blanket in the backyard.

Take your shoes off and walk barefoot in the grass.

Make yourself a homemade milkshake.

Help the kids build a blanket fort in the back yard.

Hang a hummingbird feeder near a window on your home and enjoy watching these little creatures.

Help the kids set up a Kool-Aid stand.

Have yourself a buttery ear of corn.

Watch a sunrise.

Watch a sunset.

Camp out in the back yard with the kids.

Go swimming at a lake or pond.

Watch the fireflies as night falls upon us.

Eat a slice of juicy ripe watermelon.

On a hot rainy day, go play out in the rain with the kids.

Take a short (or long) nap in the hammock or chaise lounge and take in the fresh air.

Go out and just sit in your garden, no weeding, just sitting.

Listen to the Beach Boys or whoever you might like, that reminds you of summer.

Take a drive to the country.

Go to a park and have a picnic.

Run through the sprinkler with your kids. No kids? That's okay.

Enjoy a ice-cream cone in your favorite flavor.

Make a BLT with lettuce and tomatoes from your garden or a farmers market.

Have a campfire in the back yard and make sure you have plenty of marshmallows on hand.

Ready? Get your glass of lemonade, your summer novel and go relax in the hammock.
