Simple Solution Stain and Odor Remover Review

Simple Solution is a liquid stain and odor remover for use with pet stains and other organic stains. It can be used on carpet, bedding, upholstery, and any other surface that is water-safe. Simple Solution works by using natural enzymes. It also contains non-pathogenic bacteria, isopropyl alcohol, and mild detergent. Simple Solution can be purchased at pet supply stores, hardware stores, and some grocery stores. It comes in a variety of sizes from 16 oz. to 1.5 gallons.

The first rule in successfully removing pet stains is to get them while they're still fresh, before they have set in. But, if that's not possible, Simple Solution will still get the stains and odors out. My dog went through a particularly bad digestive episode where I would come home to bile stains on the carpet almost every day. Those are tough stains to get out, especially if they've been set in. But, Simple Solution did the job. It got the stains and odors out each time, even after they'd been sitting for eight hours (sometimes with a second application).

How to use it
Before applying Simple Solution, pick up any solids and blot as much liquid up as you can. Don't rub the carpet, just blot. What I do is put rubber gloves on, take a paper towel and just place it on the stain and press down. Then shake up the bottle of Simple Solution, saturate the area, let it sit for 15 minutes, then blot with a paper towel. If the stain has been set in, you may have to do a second application to get it all out.

What I don't like
Maybe I tend to shake the bottle up too much, but for me it can get too bubbly and foamy and explode out of the bottle when I open it. And it's easy to pour out too much with the big bottle or jug. I guess using the spray bottle would solve that problem. Also, if you forget to blot afterwards, it may not get the stain out. I've tried skipping the blotting step and it hasn't worked nearly as well. I ended up doing a second application to get the stain and odor out.

What I like
I like that it uses enzymes and not chemicals. Simple Solution is practically odorless, yet it will get the worst smells out of your carpet. It's easy to use and you don't need to buy any special equipment to use it. If you're traveling with your dog, you can pack a small bottle of Simple Solution in with your dog's stuff and have it handy if your dog gets carsick. It's reasonably priced and can be purchased at any pet supplies store, such as Petco, Petsmart, or Pet Supermarket.

I have been very pleased with Simple Solution. It's done a great job on my pet's 'accidents'. I have only used it on carpet, so I can't vouch for how well it works on other surfaces, though. I imagine it would work just as well since carpet fibers can be more difficult to get stains out of than other materials or surfaces. A friend of mine recommended it to me and I would recommend it to others. Simple Solution is a very effective pet stain and odor remover.
