Directions for Simple and Sweet Strawberry Cake
1
Puree 1 pkg of strawberries
Using a blender or food processor, puree the strawberries (tops removed) until you have 1 cup of puree.2
Prepare cake mix using the strawberry puree instead of water.
Follow the instructions on the cake mix box but instead of 1 cup of water, use your 1 cup of strawberry puree. (I used Pillsbury Moist Supreme Strawberry Cake MIx)3
Bake
Bake the cake according to the instructions on the box.4
Let cool 1 hour
Allow to cool in the pan.5
Frost cake
Open frosting, stir well and frost cake completely. (I used Duncan Hines Creamy Home-Style Strawberry Frosting)6
De-top and slice remaining strawberries
Place sliced strawberries in rows on top of the cake. Or make a design if preferred.Tip
For 4th of July celebrations, or to just add a splash of variance, use blueberries to create a flag or border on the cake.
