Simple Tips to Keep a Clean House Every Day

Coming home to a nice and clean house is much better than being met by piles of newspaper, dirty clothes lying around as well as day old dishes on the table. Following are a few tips I have acquired over the years, and they have really made a difference in my life.

The most important thing; when you're done with something clean it up right away. Even if you have to rush to church or go to work, spend one minute on folding the newspaper, cleaning clutter you just used and putting the dishes in the sink. It takes such little effort if it's done right away, and you'll have the job done so much faster than if you wait for a couple of days.

The next thing when one the subject of dishes is to rinse them off and put them in the dishwasher ASAP. After dinner is done spend the five minutes on going over them with a dish cloth and put them in the dish washer. The same thing goes for breakfast, do it right away then all you have to do once the dish washer is full is to turn it on, and empty it out once it's done.

Laundry is something I always used to struggle with. Piles of everything would be lying around in the bedroom when all I really had to do was to put them in the washer, then the dryer and after folding put them neatly into drawers and closets. Depending on the amount of dirty clothes, I would suggest setting off one or two days a week as "wash days". No matter the mood or how tired you are, find a way to get to the piles before they reach through the ceiling, and get the work done before it becomes mountain high. The more consequent you are in doing the laundry, the easier it will get.

Vacuuming is another easy task. When it actually gets done, it's surprising how little effort it takes but yet the result is so nice. Don't postpone until it gets "dirty enough". Do it before you can tell the cat hair on the carpet, and it will be ten times easier to get started. The same thing goes for washing floors and bathrooms. I always used to wait until it needed a wash really bad, but I cannot say how much easier it is to do these things if you get to them before that point is reached.

These small things add up, and won't make a huge burden on anyone's life. By doing small things every day, you'll have a clean house in less time than it takes to watch the news. The reward is to come home knowing you can relax, instead of feeling bad for weeks of unwashed laundry or dirty floors.

Great suggestions, and simple too. Now, if I can just do them!

I need these tips. Between a full time job, part time work on AC and a side arts and crafts business, and taking care of my son (and husband!) there just isn't enough time!
