Simple Tips for Poutier Lips

With every starlet in Hollywood and every top model on the covers of magazines flaunting pouty, bee-stung lips, it's no wonder so many of us covet a more full lipped look. While many women are blessed with naturally full lips others make the choice to get cosmetic procedures done. There are, however, several ways that you too can obtain a fuller looking pout without expensive, invasive procedures.

One of the first things you want to do in order to make the most of your lips is to know which lipstick color works best for you. If you have naturally thin lips, you will want to stay away from darker lip colors and stains. Dark tones will make your lips look thinner and more severe. Rather than opt for burgundies, purples and reds, try a lipstick in a beige, nude, pink or coral shade. Lighter shades of lipstick will de-emphasize the thinness of your lips and give them a naturally flushed look.

Once you have chosen the shade that works best for you, you can take a small amount of concealer or powder in your natural skin tone and pat it over your lips and lipline. This will help to blend your lipline into your skin making it easier to use a lipliner to create a fuller look to your lips. When choosing a lipliner you want to make sure that it is the same color as the lipstick you are using in order to achieve a seamless and natural look. Dark lipliner with a lighter shade of lipstick is a beauty faux-pas without exception. Use your lipliner sparingly and apply it just above your natural lipline and blend it in towards the insides of your lip. When you are done with this step, apply your lipstick or lipstain and you will notice that your lips look fuller instantly.

For even fuller looking lips, you may want to use a high gloss lipgloss and rather then apply it across your entire lip are, dab a little just in the center of your top and bottom lips. This will give you a little pop of shine that will draw attention to the fuller part of your lips making them look plumper. If you want even more of a dramatic pout you can use any of the lip plumping glosses on the market. Most are made with peppermint oil, cinnamon and even cayenne pepper which will stimulate your lips making them appear poutier. Others, like LipFusion and Sally Hansen's Lip Inflation contain collagen boosting ingredients which if used regularly, will, over time, increase the volume of your lips naturally.

Having plump, kissable looking lips can be easy to achieve in the comfort of your own home. Simply know which lipcolors to use, how to line your lips to look fuller and choose a high gloss lipgloss to perfect the look, and you too can have a fuller looking pout without the pain and discomfort of cosmetic procedures. We may not all have Angelina Jolie's genes, but we can certainly still have a great looking pucker with minimal effort.
