Simple Ways to Bond with Your Partner

Creating a Closer, Stronger Relationship

Eva Kingsford
Often given all of the daily demands we face it can be hard to find the time to devote to our romantic relationships. It's easier for us to ignore the emotional distance than it is to take the time to create closeness. As a result the flames wither and the relationship fades away. However many of us fail to see that there are simple ways to create that closeness in our everyday lives without having to devote and endless supply of time or energy to the relationship. There are easy ways that every couple can create a deeper bond within their relationship.

One of the easiest ways to sneak in some extra time together is to tackle everyday things as a team together. When you are working together as a team to accomplish a job or goal, no matter how simple or minute, creates a sense of unity, trust and pride. It can be a great way to make the everyday mundane chores seems like less of a burden and more of an activity together. Even something as simple as washing the dishes can become playful when done together. And with two people taking on a task it will get done quicker and leave more time for romantic fun. Cooking a meal together can not only be practical but sensual as well. Later enjoying something you're created together shows you both not only how well you can mix spices but how well you can blend together to create something you both enjoy.

Creating habits and rituals together is another great way to create and nurture a lasting bond. It can be as simple as reading the Sunday newspaper while enjoying some coffee in bed together every week. Granted you're both caught up in your own reading but you are still taking part in the activity together and enjoying some quiet together time while still having your own space. Taking part in such activities together creates solidarity and closeness. You can also plan something as elaborate as a monthly dress up dinner date night where you try out new restaurants or revisit old favorites. The act of getting dressed up for a date night not only shows your partner that you care enough to look special for them but also that you are looking forward to spending an evening out with them by your side. Whatever your ritual together is, making a habit out of it automatically brings you closer and gives you something that only the two of you share.

One way to not only create a lasting bond but a lasting memory as well is to try out something new together. It can be as simple as watching a new show or series together on tv or sampling new foods to as big as sky diving or taking a class to learn a new skill together. As long as neither of you has tried it out before then sharing the new experience will create a mental link with the event or item, forever locking that experience with the person it was experienced with in their mind.

Creating a stronger and more genuine bond is only a matter of creating the opportunity for togetherness in everyday events and allowing yourselves to enjoy them. Every couple can be a stronger couple without having to orchestrate grand displays or move mountains, every day offers a chance at a stronger bond.
