Simple Ways to Celebrate Sweetest Day

SINGLES TOO CAN ENJOY THIS DAY!

Pamela Osbey
Don't your panties in a bunch. Sweetest Day, might be billed as another day for lovers or alternative day to Valentine's Day, but it's basically another day to say "I appreciate you" to another person in your life. This day is not just for those waiting for roses, chocolates, and cards. Sweetest Day can be a very enjoyable day for singles, if they choose the right thing to do and celebrate.

I know it sounds strange, but it's true. This day is not just for couples. So stop your whining, silent hating of those in love and eye rolling at the thought of yet another day for those in relationships. Whether or not you have a romantic interest or not, you can take a few of these tips and enjoy your Sweetest Day. Whose to say that you would not enjoy a beautiful day just with yourself or a few good friends who are just like you.

Here are some tips to celebrate Sweetest Day:

ROMANCE THYSELF:
Although not a popular idea, you romance starts and ends with one person. There are many ways that you can romance yourself and enjoy your Sweetest Day. Do you like nice quiet dinners with romantic music humming through your home? Or do you prefer to get a nice massage by a massage therapist. If you opt for the dinner, cook a nice home meal, and set the mood by taking off the phone, and playing your favorite CD. Opting for the spa treatment will be highly enjoyed by your body. Many spas offers discounted rates during the Sweetest Day weekend. So, definitely, enjoy it to the fullest if you go for a treatment. Again, your body will enjoy this. Romancing yourself doesn't have to stop there. You can treat yourself to a movie, yeah, that's right, again, another unpopular idea. Why not take in a movie and enjoy it to the fullest. My recommendation, oddly, is "Why Did I Get Married?" which is a movie that discusses love, self love, relationships, and commitments. Even though it is for married couples, the movie speaks on all levels for anyone who believes in love, whether self-love or committed love.

CHOCOLATE DELIGHTS
If you love chocolate, then go to your nearest candy shop / Fannie Mae or other and buy a box of the finest chocolates you have every consumed. If you are strapped for cash, you can take some strawberries ($2-3) and drizzle real chocolate ($1-2) over them. Use the internet to find some recipes for this or use the links below.

SWEAT IT OUT
If you like to dance your booty over, why not check out your local city's clubs or dance parties. Again, you don't' have to be with anyone. You can get jazzed up, find a hot spot, and get your dance on. Why stay at home feeling the blues, when you can party until your feet get tired! Some clubs will be free for ladies, until a certain time. Chicagoans can check out www.metromix.com for special sweetest day events this upcoming weekend. Many major cities will have special parties for singles and couples, so make sure you are in the right place! But if you don't mind partying alone, don't worry, once you start your feet moving and your body's grooving, some one will ask you for a dance, so don't be shy, enjoy that moment.

Whether you select a quiet night, a night out on the town, or dancing, you certain can go bowling, check out an art gallery, go listen to some live music, or just relax if you'd like. There's certainly no doubt whatever you do, enjoy every moment.

Just because you are single on Sweetest Day doesn't mean you aren't love. I'm sure if you really think about it, you will find that love will find you.

So go ahead and take the time to enjoy your weekend, despite your single status.
