Simple things to relieve stress

Stress is an accumulation of outside factors that produce stress. After doing loads of research...on myself, I have figured out what reduces my stress, and it could help you too. After proofing and continual testing, I finished my list! The things that reduced my stress weren't very scientific, but it worked for me. I've come to realize that the simple things take your mind off of head throbbing stress.

LIST OF STRESS RELIEVERS:

1. SMILE, it's contagious

Smiling is contagious and it always spreads a good mood.

2. Take everything as a challenge

Challenges are great, and when you have the motivation to do something you will get rewards.

3. Unclutter your house, simple is better

I like to keep my house clean now. I know that everyone is busy - but when you put things back where they belong it gets a lot easier to keep a clean house.

4. Always carry an umbrella just in-case it rains

This is a good tip, and I always keep an umbrella because I don't want to be the person that gets rained on.

5. If something isn't working, try to fix it

When something is broken and we try to use it, we usually get frustrated really fast and that is something that we need to avoid.

6. Ask for help

Just because you are asking for help doesn't mean that you are incompetent. It's a great way to learn from someone that has accomplished a lot of things. This would be a great time to listen.

7. Break down big projects into parts

This is a useful tip when you are at work and your boss gives you a big project. This is also good when you need to run a lot of errands. If you break it down and give yourself breaks in-between you will be very successful.

8. Anticipate your needs

Execute your needs. If you want something do what has to be done to complete it.

9. Make copies of important papers

I learned this one the hard way, but making copies of important documents is useful for anyone. Buy a pack of manila folders and keep all of your important documents on file with an original. As soon as you get something important in the mail, make a copy right away.

10. Eat smaller portions, snack on healthy foods

If you eat smaller portions of food you will not be hungry all the time. I found out by snacking on fruits, vegetables and pretzels that I ate less during lunch and dinner. It also helps to drink a full glass of water before meals to keep from eating large amounts.

11. Get up 15 minutes earlier than you usually would

Set your alarm 15 minutes early and make yourself breakfast. If you are not a morning person, which I am not, I found it easier to wake up with coffee and by waking up a tad earlier.

12. Prepare for the morning the night before

By having your clothes, breakfast, notes, planner and alarm set the morning goes by smoother.

13. Wear comfortable clothes

Tight clothing can make you feel uncomfortable in your own body, and that's not good. Wear clothes that flatter your figure!

14. Don't rely on memory - write it down on a stickynote!

If you remember something, write it down.

15. Have a full tank of gas

It feels good to have a full tank of gas, and the way this economy is going getting gas for 1.62 right before prices go up to 4.15 a gallon is nice.

16. Drink a lot of water

Water purifies your system. The body needs to stay full hydrated, especially when you are working hard.

17. Make duplicate keys

Duplicate keys are a must. You'll never know when your keys might get stolen, you drop them down an elevator, or drop them in the ocean (I could name plenty of ways to lose your keys). It's a good way to stay on top of things. At work keep a spare set of all your keys in your drawer, and have a set at home just in case.

18. Have priorities

When you have priorities you have direction.

19. Manage your time

Time management is the key to a stress free day. If you manage your time wisely you can complete everything without going into overdrive.

20. Stray away from the Debbie-downers (negative people)

It is good to stray away from the negative vibes. If you've ever heard the phrase, "you are who you hang out with," you want to be put in a positive light just in case you meet someone that is important.

21. Say "NO" more

If you are that person that just cannot say, "No" then it is time to change. If you already have to much to do that day it wouldn't be smart to take on more.

22. Read an inspiring quote each day

Reading calms the mind. When you start reading you enter a different world, and you stay in a quiet state. People just need some time to themselves every once in awhile.

23. Believe in yourself

Believe that you worth it!

24. Breathe deeply

Breathing deeply is a technique that is used in yoga. It helps you keep centered and calm.

25. Dance like no one is watching

Just DANCE!

26. Set goals for the day

Goals are good whether they are short-termed, long-termed or daily. It feels great when you accomplish your goals, and the more goals you accomplish the more tasks you've finish.

27. Dream big

Dreams are not just for little kids that want to go to Disney. Dreams are for anyone.

28. Be friendly

"Treat others, as you would like to be treated."

29. Write in your laptop

Write about your day. Write about the challenges in your day, it's cheaper than therapy.

30. At night look at the stars

We live in a high strung world, and we forget about the beauty.

31. Spark interest in a foreign country

Foreign countries are unique. They broaden our perspective about life. I love learning about different cultures, and how different people live around the world.

32. Plan a vacation

It's time for you to take your vacation days off.

33. Go to the beach

The sun gives you a healthy glow. Bring a beach chair, a good book, and an umbrella - it's a good place to relax.

34. Hug your friends

Friends, they are the ones that will always be there for you.

35. Buy a book

It's calming to go into a bookstore and look around for a book that interests you.

36. Stop a bad habit

Bad habits are not cute, and your etiquette will increase.

37. Buy new shoes

Treat yourself, you work hard.
