1. Shop when there are sales. This seems like an easy enough plan but a lot of people don't like to wait for sales and just buy what they want anyway. If you can hold off shopping to maybe once a week and know there's a sale a certain day, wait for that day. Don't forget to bring coupons and your Shop Rite Price Plus card either!
2. Once again, no more bottled water. It's so expensive and it's bad for the environment. Buy a water bottle that you can reuse, and not one made in China or from Wal Mart, please. Reuse this bottle over and over and drink from your tap or a Brita. Either way you're getting the same quality of water for much less.
3. No more expensive cable, and get rid of the land line. Let's face it, today's world revolves around cell phones and hardly anyone uses a land line anymore. The savings you'll get from not having a land line will be remarkable and if you can downgrade that premium movie package you have you'll save a bundle too.
4. Share wireless Internet. A wireless Internet router from Verizon or Comcast is fairly inexpensive. If you have trustworthy enough neighbors or live at your college in an off campus residence, share the wireless and split the bill. The signal strength is strong enough to encompass a large radius.
5. Clean your razor after each swipe. Razors last longer if you clean them off after each swipe and razors for say the Gillette Fusion Turbo are really expensive. Save some extra dough a month by washing that blade every chance you get.
6. The library is free. If you have a card to your public library, use it. If you don't have one, get one. It gives you access to infinite knowledge and entertainment. No more buying books or movies.
7. Use pre-paid cell phones. You get to keep the same number but the cost is much less. How many people really use all those minutes a month anyway?
