Simple Do it Yourself Sweet Sixteen Party Favors

There are many party and crafts stores around to choose from. My personal preference is Michael's. They are my one stop shop for all of my craft needs!

Here are some simple Sweet 16 party favor ideas.

Sweet 16 M&M Boxes

Using 2" cubed boxes, sold in sets of 25 per set

Pink M&M's, packages available in different sizes

Stencils or theme labels

Narrow ribbon, sold in assorted colors

Each boxed will be decorated on one side with Sweet 16 and the other can be stenciled or hand written with the name and date of the Sweet 16 honoree. Each box is then filled with pink M&M candies and sealed. Then cut a piece of ribbon, approximately 12", and tie the ribbon around the box, making a nice little bow on top! This sweet treat is a sure crowd pleaser.

Hershey's Kiss Party Favors

Using 100% nylon mesh, sold in bulk or in 9" circle diameter

Hershey's Kisses, packages available in various sizes

Narrow ribbon, sold in assorted colors

Gift Tags-Martha Stewart Crafts, Flourish Tags, sold in packages of 24

The ribbon should be cut in advance for easier handling and the gift tags should be personalized before you begin putting it all together. Place Hershey's Kisses into the center of each mesh circle and carefully gather the material together at the top. Tie a piece of ribbon around the top of each favor to secure it. Slip the tag through the ribbon and then tie a delicate bow. Each tag will be personalized with the Sweet 16 Honoree's name and date. These are cute little favors, can be placed around the tables or in a basket in the center of the table.

Sweet 16 Votive Candles & Holders

Using 2.5" clear or frosted votive holders

Pink or white votive candles, sold individually or in sets of various sizes

Stencils, adhesive stickers or glass paints

Rhinestones or little gems, sold in various packages

Decorate the outside of each votive holder. The design can be up to you! You can use hearts and stones to decorate the outside or personalize it, painting the honoree's name or Sweet 16 on the outside. Once dried, you will place one votive candle inside. No need to package it or wrap it, unless you would like to and the nylon mesh works great for this party favor as well.

Writable Icing

Using a simple sugar cookie recipe, roll out the dough and using a heart shaped cookie cutter, place on a cookie sheet and bake. Once the cookies are all made and cooled, you can decorate the cookies with icing and personalize each one with either Sweet 16 or with the honoree's name. The cookies can be placed individually into each cello bag and the top can be folded over and sealed with a heart shaped sticker.
