Patten Music Studios is owned and operated in Charlotte, North Carolina by Jim Patten. Patten Music offers classes in several locations, and has been recognized recently by Fox News Charlotte. Patten Music focuses on the Simply Music piano method, which enables students to start playing songs immediately, even from the very first lesson.

Currently, lessons with Patten Music are available Wednesdays through Fridays at The Homeschool Room in Stallings, NC. The Homeschool Room is open from 10am to 5pm on these days. The studio has been accepting students in the Matthews area just over a year, and is already receiving rave reviews. Lessons are taught in groups, and time slots are limited. Classes are also offered on Mondays in Mooresville and on Tuesdays in Concord. In the Mooresville area, Patten Music operates out of Key Academy, which is in the downtown area. On Tuesdays, a few time slots are still available at the Kannapolis Church of Christ.

Patten Music has become very popular amongst home school groups in the area, and has made appearances at the HINTS bookfair the previous two years. With the large number of current homeschool students, the studio currently caters towards morning and early afternoon lessons, though some evening classes have been available for students in public school. At this time, Patten Music is not accepting students for weekend or evening classes.

Lessons with Patten Music are $80 a month, for one lesson a week. Fees are due at the end of the month for the next month. This price stays the same whether there are four or five weeks in a month. Lessons are offered year-round, and classes can be started at any time. Students must also pay for student home materials, which include books and instructional DVDs. If multiple students are in the same family, only one package of student home materials needs to be purchased.
