"Sims 3" Gets in on the Charlie Sheen Mocking

Just when the major media groups have had their dose of Charlie Sheen's "winning" moments, video games are now taking a pot shot at the crazed or crazy former "Two and a Half Men" celebrity star. Titled "Charlie Sheen is WINNING in 'The Sims 3,'" the machinima shows off a "Sims 3" Charlie Sheen avatar having a bizarre round of publicity for about 90 seconds. It's a pretty good parody.

Through tabloid headlines, Charlie Sheen's vodka and tiger blood fueled exploits are noted before being shown. He dances with strippers on a table while crashing a party-a children's birthday party. He creates, stars, and directs his new TV show "Two and a Half Sheens." He travels back in time to strike out with some cave women. His tours the country as part of his new rock band Tiger Blood-not too far from his real life comedy tour that is scheduled. Then produces the "Winning" musical for Broadway. His antics then catch the attention of one President Obama, who decides to appoint him Secretary of Zany. And to top it off, the final headline may just be the most accurate headline that describes Charlie Sheen's motives for his current series of bizarre publicity stunts.

This little video from EA Games' "Sims 3" gaming engine accomplishes quite a bit for the game. First it rides the publicity wave of a current pop culture happening. Who knows how long Charlie Sheen's train wreck will span so it's good to get on-board while the getting is good. And if it knocks him down a peg, even better. Second, it shows the various features of the "Sims 3" games. Players are able to create their own characters like Charlie Sheen-perhaps a better looking version than the video-and place him or whoever they create into their own playing field. And players too are able to create their own videos or slide shows of the antics witnessed in the land of Sims. Third, it showcases new features of "Sims 3" like new gadgets and interactions.

And if EA Games wanted to promote their long time running art imitating life simulation, who better to mock than art imitating life imitating art showman Charlie Sheen? Now the next question after this little video is to see whether Charlie Sheen denounces "The Sims" as a troll or attempts to strike a deal for a new series of "Sims 3" videos chronicling his exploits. If he does get that time machine working, we may just have a new show.
