Sinbad Back from the Dead

Mr. Anderson
Last Saturday Sinbad passed away, according to the online encyclopedia Wikipedia. An updated post was made on the Sinbad Wikipedia page saying that he had passed away from a heart attack.

This incident is sure to work its way into his act. Sinbad couldn't ask for better material. Not everyone can say they have been killed off by an online encyclopedia without knowing it.

Sinbad told the Associated Press that he received a call from his daughter informing him of the report that he had died. After which he received hundreds of saddened phone calls, text messages and emails. Sinbad was on the road performing his comedy act when he learned of the news.

"Saturday I rose from the dead and then died again," Sinbad tells AP. Sinbad took the news of his untimely death with good humor, he adds "It's gonna be more commonplace as the Internet opens up more and more. It's not that strange."

The Sinbad death hoax spread across the country in a matter of hours. Searches on Sinbad rose to an all time high across the internet. Among the most searched terms were "Sinbad death" and "Sinbad comedian". As with all rumors, nothing is for sure until you see it on the internet. People were curious whether this rumor held any truth.

This morning the actors Wikipedia page displays a banner at the top of the page which says "This page has been temporarily protected from editing to deal with vandalism." Clearly this is to deal with the false information recently posted on the site.

David Adkins (born November 10, 1956), is an American stand-up comedian and actor. He uses the stage name Sinbad. His fame started to rise in the late 80's and 90's when he appeared in several TV series and by starring in movies such as Houseguest (1995), First Kid (1996), and Jingle All the Way (1996).

Sinbad was born and raised in Benton Harbor, Michigan. He attended the University of Denver between 1974 and 1978. He focused on playing basketball and he lettered two seasons while on the schools team. Sinbad later joined the US Air Force with the plan to join the basketball team there and get noticed by the Globetrotters or some other pro team. He didn't make the team and went into a depression. Sinbad went AWOL several times until he discovered a love for comedy in a Air Force Talent Show. The rest is history.
